New Komen Maryland Board Members
Desmond D. Connall Jr. is a commercial real estate layer with more than 36 years of experience. Connall is currently the team leader of Ballard Spahr’s Leasing Team, working with numerous kinds of clients such as real estate developers, investors and owners. Outside of his real estate practice, Connall also serves as outside general counsel to a non-profit organization. Additionally, Connall has served on the planning committee for Komen Maryland’s annual Promise Ride and has helped raise nearly $100,000 for that event.
Kathy Martin is an investor and business manager with Smoketown Brewing Station, an award-winning craft brewery located in Frederick County. Martin has been involved with Smoketown Brewing Station since the start of business and has been a key player in helping solidify the company’s success in the Maryland brewing industry. Kathy hopes to grow the affiliate’s activities in western Maryland.
Lester Miller is the vice president of business development for Strategic Factory with over 50 years of experience in sales, marketing and general management. Strategic Factory is a longtime supporter of Komen Maryland, providing nearly $250,000 in donated printing and design services since 2011, and has been actively involved in the marketing of the annual Race for the Cure.
